Spring break is right around the corner and Johnson is more than ready. Students aren’t the only one’s who are making plans; teachers don’t just sit home and grade papers all day, they are making, or have made, some plans as well.
“This spring break, I plan on visiting with family and friends. I will also see my daughter who will be coming home from A&M,” English teacher Margaret Williams said.
During spring break, teachers get a chance to relax, and be normal human beings.
“My family and I are going to Dallas because my wife has family there, so we’ll visit. We may go to the beach. I’m going to go to swim lessons with my kids, hang out with my boys, wrestle. I also plan on going out to dinner with my wife. Also, I will be grading papers,” History teacher Adrian Viccellio said.
This break can allow teachers to do work, and relax at the same time,
“I plan on sleeping late, and staying up late. I plan on doing the things I would like to do during the week, but don’t have the chance to because I am at school teaching,” English teacher Daniel Farias said.
The question we all want to know: Do teachers have lives beyond the classroom?
“Absolutely, I make it a point to have a life outside the classroom. Teaching is what I do but it’s only a small part of my life,” Farias said. Agreeing, Williams said, “We do have lives, I plan on turning in all the grades by 4:05 so I won’t have to worry about it at all this break. This is the first time I am doing this.”
