Now that Thanksgiving is over, the holiday season is in full swing with lights, presents and sparkling trees. To kick off the season around the school, the band and color guard are hosting their sixth annual craft fair.
“The Johnson Holiday Craft Fair & Market will be held on Saturday, December 5 from 10 am – 4 pm. We will have vendors in the cafeteria, the Upper Foyer and outside in the courtyard near the cafeteria. Free admission and parking. We will have a concession stand as well,” band parent Heather Gaudette said.
A wide variety of vendors and crafts will be on display and available for purchase throughout the fair.
“We have over 80 vendors exhibiting, including local artisans selling their work including: photography, wooden items, jewelry, knit and crocheted wearables, candles, soaps and glassware, calligraphy, counted cross stitch, paper art, etc,” Gaudette said.
The craft fair is a family event, so they try to find vendors that would appeal to people of all ages.
“One of our vendors, a grandmother of one of the band members, is coordinating a free “Make N’ Take” holiday craft for kids,” Gaudette said. “That will be next to her booth, located in the Upper Foyer area. That’s at the top of the stairs from the lobby, leading to the cafeteria.”
While the community shops around for their holiday gifts, they will be delighted with a wide musical selection from choirs to orchestras of all age groups.
“Choirs from several elementary schools and Tejeda Middle School will also be performing,” said Gaudette. “The Tejeda Orchestra will be there, as well as ‘Madison Avenue,’ the show choir from Madison High School.”
No matter what kind of items are on your holiday shopping list, you can be sure there will be something there for everyone.
“Our Fair offers a unique shopping experience. You’ll find a wide variety of merchandise in one location, including one-of-a-kind handmade items that are sure to please everyone on your holiday gift list,” Gaudette said.
