Back to school means it’s time for homecoming – the annual Texas tradition that means mums, a homecoming court and, hopefully, a win on the football field. This year’s homecoming takes place on Saturday September 30 at 8:00PM at Johnson High School and promises to be a “Fiesta in the Fall.”
“Homecoming is a really great way to hang out with your friends. It’s really laid back and you can do whatever you want before or after. All the money goes back to Johnson to help student council,” Student Council president Grace Valderama said.
Homecoming week there will be a spirit week, where Student Council will feature theme days for those who want to show their school spirit and dress up.
“Monday we have ‘Battle of the Grades’- every grade wears a different T-shirt; jerseys one day, sombreros another day; Viva Jaguars is Friday for spirit day; donde esta mi amigo Is twin day,” Valderama said.
There will be a lot of fun activities for one to enjoy at homecoming.
“Theres pin the tail on the burro, we will have karaoke, snow cones, and we have a live band for the students to enjoy outside,” Valderama said.
Prices for homecoming will start off at $25 the first week and $30 the second week and you can purchase them during all three lunches, and then it will be $35 the day of at the door.
