Elizabeth Warren
Senator of Massachusetts and Politician, Elizabeth Warren began running her 2020 democratic presidential campaign since February of last year. She hopes to end corruption in Washington and pass another green bill among many other policies. She’s an avid supporter of the Trump Impeachment and regularly comments on the impeachment process through her twitter.
Warren has two children, Amelia Warren Tyagi and Alexander Warren, with former husband, Jim Warren and is now remarried to Bruce Mann. She was previously a professor at Harvard where she taught bankruptcy law. She wrote many books surrounding law. After retiring as a teacher she came into politics serving as a Special Advisor under Obama. Then in November 2012 she proceeded to win the U.S. senate election in Massachusetts. And on February 19th of 2019 she announced her run as a presidential candidate.
Like other candidates, Warren plans on canceling student loan debt, stop predatory student loaning, and provide free tuition. She plans on doing this by putting more taxes on millionaires and billionaires depending on how much they have. With that tax money she plans on providing free tuition and paying off student debt.
Warren is also keen on ending climate change. When in office she wishes to pass a “Climate Disclosure Act” to hold large companies accountable about their carbon footprint. She also plans to pass a new Green Deal which would help halt climate change and reach net-zero emissions by 2030. Climate change is truly an issue Warren stresses and she is driven to help the Earth for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Regarding the most recent outbreaks of the Coronavirus, Warren wants to prevent diseases in the U.S. and in foreign countries. She is also pushing for Medicare for all. Warren is also a supporter of foreign assistance and is against the Muslim ban. Warren has been to many protests against Trumps Muslim ban and plans to fight this ban as much as possible.
She has become one of the top three contenders for the Democrat Presidential Race out of a remaining 12 candidates. Overall Warren has become one of the most influential presidential candidates and has no plans on dropping out of this race to end Trumps reign.
Amy Klobuchar
The “Senator next door”, Amy Klobuchar began running for the 2020 presidential election on February 10, 2019. She’s branded herself as “Minnesota nice”, but people are asking if that’s really what the white house needs.
Klobuchar has one daughter, Abigail Klobuchar Bessler, with husband John Bessler. Klobuchar was previously a lawyer then a county prosecutor and a politician before running for the 2020 presidential election. She was elected into the senate in 2006. Klobuchar has also written her book “The Senator Next Door: A Memoir From the Heartland” and helped write “Her Honor: Rosalie Wahl and the Minnesota Women’s Movement” with Minnesotan author, Lori Sturdevant.
This candidate, unlike her democratic counterparts, is very reserved with topics on healthcare and tuition free college. Unlike Warren she does take donations from millionaires and billionaires.
Unlike Warren she has no climate change plans and her main focus is simply improving America. She does although advocate for ending trafficking and the opioid epidemic. She also wants to make 48- hour hospitals for new mothers.
Klobuchar often boasts about the amount of policies she gotten passed with Trump in office. She has been one of the most successful senators when it comes to passing policies in the white house. She has passes over 100 bills.
Klobuchar has become one of the 5th contenders for the Democrat Presidential Race out of a remaining 12 candidates. Overall people do continue to question what policies Klobuchar actually advocates for because of her reserved campaign.
