With the end of the school year slowly approaching, there is also the anticipated banquets happening in classes. Although this year, there are some minor restrictions to enforce COVID-19 protocols.
If there is going to be food served, the banquet must be held in an outside area, otherwise it can be held indoors. Many classes are planning to hold banquets outside in the courtyard. Food can’t be held in a buffet style, but individual pre-boxed portions have been used to avoid the spread of COVID-19.
Compared to previous years, the banquets are going to be a lot more socially distanced and a lot less extravagant, but orchestra director Karen George recognizes how important they still are.
“I think most, if not all of us teachers, have made it a priority to try to keep our traditions as much as possible while still following protocols and being safe,” George said. “With so many concessions we have had to make during this pandemic, we need something to look forward to and to celebrate.”

Wow. I am really glad I will be able to attend my banquet this year. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to with all that has been going on in the past year and a half. I hope everyone has fun and stays safe!
