With school over, the long summer full of sleeping in and hanging with friends, awaits high school students. However, three months without being busy or simply not having anything to do can get boring after awhile. Here’s a list of great places to hang out and have fun over the summer. Six Flags Fiesta Texas is a great place to hang out with friends and family over the summer break, because it is not only a water park and an amusement park in one, but it also has gift shops. Daily admission to Six Flags is $41.99, however Six Flags does offer a season pass which enables you to visit as many times as wanted for a one time price of $58.99.
“Six Flags is a cool place to go chill with your friends and get refreshed on the water rides, go on heart-racing roller coasters that make you pee your pants, and of course hit on girls,” sophomore Jack Robles said.
Another great inexpensive place to hang over the summer is the movies. At Santikos Embassy 14 Theatre, located on Embassy Row, admission is only five dollars if you go see a movie between the hours of four to six pm.
“I definitely want to go to the movies over the summer, because I enjoy watching movies and it’s a great place to go on a date,” sophomore Valorie Smith said.
If you want to keep cool over the summer with water rides or chilling in the Lazy River, then Shlitterbahn may just be the place for you. Shlitterbahn is a water park located in multiple Texas cities, the closest being in New Braunfels. One-day general admission is $42.99, but for children admission is only $32.99. Shlitterbahn also offers season passes for frequent visitors.
“I have a blast every time I visit Shlitterbahn because it’s the ultimate water park. It’s three water parks in one. Not to mention it keeps you from dying from heat exhaustion,” sophomore Josh Frazier said.
If you’re not to thrilled about being in the extreme Texas heat over the summer there is hope for you. Laser Quest and Main Event are to great indoor places where you and your friends can have a good time. Laser Quest charges eight dollars per game of laser tag.
“Laser Quest is some where I’m going to be hanging out over the summer, cause it’s cool inside cause of the AC , you get to hang out with friends and shoot people,” junior bryan Miller said.
Main Event Entertainment is a blend of a variety of indoor activities. Such as bowling, laser tag, arcades, rock climbing, glow golf, and their also is food. This place can be considered a jack of all trades, a perfect cure for boredom during the summer time.
“Main Event is great! It has everything like laser tag, and bowling, it’s a really sweet place; kind of like Dave and Buster’s. Although the food is really expensive, the games are dope,” junior Isaiah Segura said.
