Johnson marching band yet again amazes us with their outstanding performances and accomplishments. Advancing to Bands of America Super Regional finals last Saturday, Johnson returned triumphant with tenth place out of fifty-five bands.
“For the first time in Johnson Band history we made finals,” junior Meghan Cantu said. “It was kinda a big deal for us especially since the past two years we didn’t even come close to this.”
Out of the fifty-five bands, only fourteen were selected to compete in the finals performance.
“Performing in the finals show was absolutely incredible,” Cantu said. “It’s not a moment you can experience more than once so I know it was special for all of us.”
After three years of trial, the members finally get to show BOA judges what they put their entire lives into through all the blood, sweat and tears.
“For me being a junior it was incredible so I can’t imagine how it was for the seniors,” Cantu said.
The band will be performing their show “You Are” one last time Tuesday, Nov. 2.
“Hopefully we can do just as good if not better than we did this weekend,” Cantu said. “So wish us luck!”
