As school ends the first thought that pops in your head is summer vacation. Many plans and places to go, but deciding whether to go to one place or another is challenging. Although you choose the best spot to have fun but savor the time spent before another school year begins.
“The top places I want to go in the summer is Disney World… like it’s Disney World and Cancun or Puerto Rico somewhere out there maybe to get out of the heat. I would go to Colorado because of the heat here. But mostly I would go to Disney World because I would have fun there all the time,” junior Aj Gonzalez said.
Going to the beach is the most popular place to go in the summer due to the heat. Chandler Heupel decided to go to San Diego with his family in the summer with plans to enjoy before he starts his sophomore year.
“I’m going to San Diego and my favorite thing to do there is to go to the zoo and sea world because it’s really fun and I love animals and it’s just great to spend the day out there in the weather and I want to watch fireworks if were there on the fourth of July I’m not sure when I’ll go but I hope we’re going there at that time,” freshman Chandler Heupel said. I love going to the beach there it’s so much fun its cold but it’s refreshing and the food there is really authentic and it’s really amazing.”
Some students have their vacation but other students have events that involve their church to go to Washington DC and learn the history of the Holocaust for four days.
“I’m going to Washington. I’m going to an event that my church is holding there and it’s a christian united for Israel and I got a scholarship to attend for four days. I was really excited to go to Washington because i’m really interested in the jewish history,” senior Lydia Alvarez said. “Like what happened in the Holocaust and they have a lot of Holocaust survivors who go in there to talk and have a lot of speakers and it’s a really good opportunity for people who goes in there to appreciate it as much as you do.”
While having her last year as a senior in high school, not only does Alvarez get to go to Washington for church but to also enjoy the summer time with her close friends and family.
“I’m going on a cruise to Cozumel and Cayman islands. I’m going on a cruise with some family friends because it’s kinda like our senior trip with my friend from the valley and it’s really important because we have been friends since kindergarten. So when I moved it was a really big change,” Alvarez said.
The most popular place to visit is either Disney World or Cancun to enjoy the beach and the refreshing water in the heat. As Will Seymour went during spring break to Cancun he decided to go again over the summer and appreciate the summer.
“I went to Cancun with my family for vacation it was really fun. The beach was so beautiful. Better looking than the ones in the United States. I went during spring break and I’m going again in the summer. Junior William Seymour said. “I flew in the airplane with my mom and stepdad and my mother also has a house in Cancun. So we can sleep there for a long time. The best part was the food there. It’s pretty amazing mainly seafood and other kind of stuff like pizza…I can’t wait to go again it’s going to be so much fun I probably will go with my girlfriend too so I’m excited to enjoy my summer with my girlfriend and my family.”
