Jump back to the 90’s and mid-2000’s: boy bands were on the rise and there were tons of them. Ranging from The Backstreet Boys, New Kids On The Block, NSYNC until the breakout of The Jonas Brothers. The Jonas Brothers were not the first boy band to have existed but to many, they may be the last.
As of March 1 of this year, their new hit single “Sucker” came out. The music video features the significant others of all three of the band members accompanying the new sound that the more matured Jonas Brothers gained over their 6 year break. The style of their music has changed quite a bit since their last album back in 2013. Ranging from singing in more falsetto tones and including more instrumentation in the background of the tune to utilizing harmonies in their unique voices.
Based on everybody’s responses on Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat, the Jonas Brothers are again on the rise. After the release of their hit single, the three decided to recreate one of their most iconic videos from the early 2000’s. This video became viral on Twitter and Instagram, creating another wave of publicity to crash into their song ‘Sucker.’
In the end, many hope that the band getting back together will last in the long term, but who knows? Personally, I am on the train of hopes for the three but the future is unpredictable. Still, the ride back to fame has been brief and escalated quickly for the Jonas Brothers, so we’ll keep dreaming that this works out.
