Johnson will be hosting it’s first annual Senior Sunset get together to wish seniors goodbye on their last day of school.
“There’s no cost to attend but we would like you to register so we can know how many people are coming and we will sell food tickets a few weeks before the event,” Student Council sponsor Kristine Rogers said.
It will take place on the football practice field on Tuesday, June 4 2019; the seniors’ last day of finals. The event will end at sunset around 8:30.
“I feel like I guess it’s a good thing to have the seniors get together for the last time because they’re probably all very stressed. They’re all like ‘Oh I have to get ready for college, got to do this for college, have to do that for college,’ and for them to just be able to relax is very nice,” sophomore Kendall Curtis said.
Senior Sunset was created for the purpose of giving the senior class one last hoorah as a coherent group before graduation.
“Registration is free and can be done at the Jag Shack or the cafeteria. T-shirts can be purchased for $15 and the first 50 people to purchase the shirts can buy them for $10,” Rogers said.
The event will allow seniors to relax and have fun without having to worry about missing days of school.
“There will be a DJ that will be playing music, food trucks, inflatables, a rock wall and prizes will be raffled off at the event. You will receive one free raffle ticket when you register,” Rogers said. “Please come to Senior Sunset on June 4!”
