On May 25, Senior sunset will be hosted at Johnson on the practice football field.
“Senior sunset is an event for seniors to celebrate the last day of the school and the end of their high school career,” student council sponsor Kristine Rogers said.
This event offers many giveaways for seniors.
“We hope all seniors will attend! We will have free Kona Ice for the 1st 500 seniors and free t-shirts for the 1st 300 students,” Rogers said.
Safety precautions will still be put in place to prevent the potential spread of COVID-19.
“We are not having the rock wall, and inflatables, or the dunk tank to help keep people safe. We have a large enough area that social distancing will be possible. With the games, we will have gloves available if people want them, and hand sanitizer stations throughout,” Rogers said.
However, the safety precautions won’t stop people from having a good time.
“The drumline will make an appearance and we will take one last group photo of the class of 2021 right at sunset on the football field,” Rogers said. “We will have our normal Homecoming and Prom DJ there, we will have cornhole games, spike ball, footballs and soccer balls, and egg race relay, a tug of war competition, photo backdrops, and a few other activities. PTSA will also be there with the college signs for seniors to sign.”
Senior sunset was always meant to be memorable.
“We have been able to keep it free for seniors with the help of PTSA. Senior Sunset gives seniors one last chance to hang out with their friends and celebrate the end of high school in a relaxed environment before graduation.” Rogers said.
