Softball season is in full swing: their first district game Friday with an 8-5 record going in. The girls are practicing hard to be prepared for their game against MacArthur
“We practice everyday, and the good thing is [this year] we have girls that have started since they were sophomores, since we opened, and so this year I think we are working more, the foundation is already built, so were working on our strategy and things like that,” Coach Jennifer Fox said.
Expectations for this season are high.
“[I want] for everyone to do really good, and just to give 100% all the time,” Kayla Couch said.
With a great season the past 2 years, the team is pushing to best themselves.
“We practice after school a lot, we’ve played a lot of scrimmages, so we get a lot of practice in before districts,” Melanie Roe said.
Coach Fox holds high- but nowhere near unreachable- goals for the team.
“Our expectations are to win a district championship and go to playoffs; go as far as we can,” Fox said. “I think, in high school athletics, that’s everybody’s expectation; but they are realistic for us. We can totally do that.”
