Students are expecting this fall to be like no other due to the upcoming concerts and shows. One tour that is coming to San Antonio this fall is “The Thrash and Burn Tour”. The line-up includes Winds of Plague, Chelsea Grin, As Blood Runs Black, For the Fallen Dreams, Upon a Burning Body, In the Midst of the Lions, and LIke Moths to Flames.
“It’s an all ages show and it’ll probably cost around twenty-five bucks”, sophomore and Furtive Hallucinations guitarist Beck Byler said “ I really want to go because all of the bands on the line-up are great! I am excited for “Thrash and Burn”!
However, this year’s “Thrash and Burn” will be held at a recently-opened venue in San Antonio.
“Thrash and Burn is going to be at Backstage Live this year, because a lot of touring bands are gonna be there and the White Rabbit is too small,” Byler said.
Another attraction coming to San Antonio is the Buried Under Texas Anniversary Show.
The line-up of the show is A Tale Of Two Cities, Eye Of The Beholder, Enastasia, Furtive Hallucinations, One We Created, Call Me Tragedy, All Of The Above, After The Fall, Seize The Prophet, Frontlines, Artifacts, Untitled We Stand, xStrength Of Willx, and, of course, Buried Under Texas.
“Most of these bands are actually from San Antonio, ” guitarist and lead singer for Eye Of The Beholder, Josh Ruff, said.
The Buried Under Texas Anniversary show is expected to be held on September,23.
“This show will start at 5:30 PM and it will be an all ages show”, Byler said. “Theres an $8 entry fee at the door, but you get two dollars off if you bring the show flyer, and it’s half-off if you wear Buried Under Texas merch.”
This local San Antonio show will be at the 1011 Venue on 1011 Avenue B.
“It feels freaking amazing to be playing at the 1011. I’m honored,” Ruff said. “I think it’s going to be packed.”
For those students who don’t listen to Deathcore but enjoy Alternative/Indie, the band Incubus will be having a concert on Tuesday, September 27.
“The Incubus concert will be at the Freeman Coliseum, and starts at 7:30pm,” junior Erik Ghent said. “Tickets cost $71. I would recommend everyone and anyone to go to this concert, because their music is both diverse and complex.”
Incubus is a widely-known band that tours all around the U.S.
“Incubus is a pretty successful band; you can find their stuff on Itunes, and concert dates online,” Ghent said. “I really like the vast range of the vocalists voice and their unique sound. It going to be a great concert.”
Def Leppard and Heart will be holding a concert at the AT&T center September 23.
“I am super excited because I love old music, and they haven’t been to San Antonio in a really long time,” senior John Moore said.
Last but not least, Taylor Swift is making a stop on her Speak Now tour at the AT&T center October 25.
“I’m in love with Taylor Swift, but I’m even more excited for her opening act Needtobreathe to play,” junior Alyssa Clark said.
