Face it- school has started, and although you may still be reminiscing those golden summer days, school is in session and you’ve got to pass your classes. Thankfully there are plenty of places to study where you can actually focus, as opposed to your bedroom, where you know you’ll end up binging Netflix before you even start. Grab your notes and caffeine, and you’re on your way to success.
Starbucks – Although you may be fearful of long lines and loud, obnoxious customers, many Starbucks locations still manage to maintain an overall quiet atmosphere. Whether you choose a latte, a blueberry muffin, or both, you are sure to leave feeling satisfied, both with your stomach and your studies. Free wifi is a definite plus!
Kneaders– This quaint little bakery has plenty of seating and a ridiculous amount of pastry options to satisfy any craving. Their outstanding staff will answer any questions or requests promptly, so you’re sure to want to stay through the night (sadly, they close at 10 PM). With great study space, you’ll be able to focus and finish your work in a timely manner. Unfortunately, Kneaders is one of the few coffee shops/bakeries without free wifi, so plan on sticking to the books at this study spot.
Chopstix Cafe– This hidden gem is a fantastic place to complete your studies. They offer some dishes, but are most commonly known for their Boba teas. It’s a small space, but not many people are ever there at one time, so you’re sure to find a nice spot. It also stays relatively quiet which makes it a perfect place to hit the books.
Panera Bread– A classic stop for soup and sandwiches, Panera Bread is a superb option for a light snack (orbetter yet, meal) and a long study session. Because students can always be found studying here, the restaurant maintains a mellow mood that’s perfect for an afternoon of books and tea. Free wifi is offered at most locations.
Encino Branch Library– Grab your lab partners and gather at this library because you are bound to finish that lab report due tomorrow just in time. There’s plenty of space and the noise level remains at a minimum, so there won’t be too many distractions. This is especially great if you’re on a budget and want to avoid any delicious temptations, or if you’re just sick of the door bell ringing every time someone steps in the store. While you’re at it, check out as some books because library passes are free.
Local Coffee– This San Antonio-based coffee chain hits the sweet spot for students looking for somewhere with some serious study vibes. Coffee aromas and alternative tunes fill the room, and the occasional strain of the espresso machine is sure to keep you awake (along with the espresso you’re sipping). Free wifi and rich coffee attract many guests, which sometimes makes finding a seat a challenge. Apart from this, Local Coffee is the ideal place to get your study on.
Rise Bakery– If you’re looking for a comfy couch or quiet corner to step up your study game, this little bakery is the place for you. Not only is it a great place to feel secluded from outside distractions, but they have an excellent selection ofpastry items and lunch choices. Don’t forget to add a latte to your meal- you won’t regret it. Seriously, their food is heavenly, so give it a try when you get a chance.
Corner Bakery– Corner bakery has a large café, and for good reason. With modern and industrial decorations, this place gives off the perfect study vibes, without being overwhelming or feeling like a ridiculous hipster haven. Get a flatbread and crank up your headphones (and listen to Spotify since they have free wifi) because you are about to get down to business.
