Beatles made available on iTunes

By Madeline Kempf | Staff Writer

On November 16, the Apple homepage featured the “Fab Four” underneath the title, “The Beatles. Now on iTunes.” One of the most successful rock bands of all time is finally available on the world’s #1 music store. Along with 16 classic albums and dozens of dozens of songs available for $1.29 each, iTunes is also promoting video of performances, TV ads, and even their first live U.S. concert.

Yet some students have claimed it’s come too late. Sophomore Sergio Calderon says that he’s already been a long-time owner of the music.

“Since I was little, my mom would put it on ,and I heard it on the radio and stuff, so I just got into it like that. I’ve been listening to it since I was like five…..But I already have a lot of their music so [the release on iTunes] doesn’t matter,” Calderon said.

Those who have been undying fans of the Beatles already own their albums, making the iTunes release just an extra source for maybe a missing song or two. Needless to say, iTunes shouldn’t be surprised if this isn’t their number one overall release.

“At first I was like, ‘Oh! That’s cool!’ Its pretty legit that I can do that and purchase it. I already have most of their stuff though, so it’s all good,” junior Ryan Cook said.
