Senior Ty Reasoner has had great success with his Johnson football career, so much success that he has committed to the Air Force Academy as a junior.
“It definitely takes some weight off of my shoulders. I’m very excited to call USAFA my home. But it has honestly given more of a reason to work harder and commit everything I have to making this the best senior football team to go through Johnson,” Reasoner said.
Because of Covid-19 during the summer it was uncertain how the upcoming season was going to play out.
“The summer has its ups and downs when it came to covid and if we were gonna be able to play or not. Regardless, the team worked extremely hard given the time period and it’s beginning to pay off,” Reasoner said.
Even though there were doubts about the season Reasoner is still on track for a great season.
“I’m feeling very confident that the team will be very successful under our new coaches. We’ve been doing great in practice and our first scrimmage and we have been remaining focused on going to state,” Reasoner said.
Besides giving information on behalf of the season Reasoner gave some information regarding his commitment to USAFA and why he chose the Academy.
“The great coaches, big time D1 football, Colorado, amazing academics, the opportunity to serve for the nation. It just feels like home in the end,” Reasoner said.
The process began for Reasoner during his junior year and really picked during the uncertainty of the spring semester.
“They offered me in February, as well as Army West Point. Covid didn’t allow me to take my official visit to the campus but it was always a dream of mine to go to a service academy so i knew it was right for me. I called the head coach on March 12 and told him I wanted to commit and they were super excited,” Reasoner said.
Reasoner seems very excited to be committed and a part of the USA Air Force Academy family.
“I’m super blessed and thankful for the opportunity of a lifetime,” Reasoner said.
