A new small business has opened up in our vicinity, located near the infamous Burger King and relatively new Sprouts and HTeaO. Bahia Bowls is a delightful shop that sells a bowl similar to a smoothie, except with only blended fruit or greens, instead of the addition of milk or juice. The menu is extremely gluten and dairy friendly and is fairly healthy, claiming to boost immune systems with fresh produce.
My first experience in the shop was pleasantly surprising. I had stopped by with limited expectations out of the blue. It had seemed interesting enough, and I might as well substitute all the Starbucks with healthy bowls.
Small bowls cost $6.45, regular bowls cost $8.45, and large bowls cost $10.45. Customers can also buy a slice of avocado toast or smoothie.
I ordered the pitaya bowl, which was chock-full of all my favorite fruits. It looked fun to eat too, boasting a brilliant magenta color at the base and the contrast of the golden mango and crisp coconut at the top.
The taste could only be described as such a unique blend. It had the element of the earthy dragon fruit, the crunchy granola, the ripe mango, the fresh kiwi, the bright pineapple, the sweet coconut, and the smooth honey.
I also had the honor of trying the new tidal wave bowl before it came out, which was even better than the pitaya bowl. The flavors combined so well. It included the blue algae titled spirulina, which has many nutritional benefits, but is also aesthetically pleasing and surprisingly tasty. It also had hints of sweet and condensed milk, which mixed so well with the spirulina.
Overall, Bahia Bowls is a business worth buying from. Their selection of bowls and breakfasts are diverse and delicious. It’s addictive after you get a bowl or two, and you’ll sure to be back in a few days!
