Almost 10 years after its conclusion, the reboot of the popular Nickelodeon TV show iCarly will be released on June 17. The show will be premiering on Paramount+ with brand new characters. The revival will reveal the older characters’ new lifestyle and progression throughout the years.
Janette McCurdy and Noah Munck, who played Sam Pucket and Gibby, will not be returning main characters; McCurdy has quit acting, while Munck is currently busy starring as Rob Smith on the hit ABC sitcom The Goldbergs.
Carly Shay will be played by the same actress as in the original: Miranda Cosgrove. Spencer Shay and Freddy Benson will also be played by their original actors, Jerry Trainor and Nathan Kress respectively.
Carly will also have a new best friend on the show, Harper, played by Laci Mosely. Freddy will now have a daughter in the new show Millicent, played by Jaidyn Triplett.
It’s been theorized that Spencer will be quite wealthy in the new reboot, having a larger apartment than in the original show.
This revival will have 13 episodes for it’s first season. And it will be streamed on Paramount+, and will pick-up with Carly starting up iCarly again and Freddy moving back into the apartment next door with his mom.
The new show is said to have hints to adult humor, which is unlike the original. Heavier topics will be discussed as Freddy will joke about his multiple divorces in the pilot.
Although, many things in the show have changed there are many references to the original show with artwork and sculptures from the years prior.
