Apple Cider Donut Flavored Oreos
The Apple Cider Donut Oreo is a crisp, tan color, similar to that of the iconic apple cider hue, with festive black speckles. The filling is almost identical to that of peanut butter, which is unsettling. Embossed with the classic Oreo pattern, the Oreo is complete with an autumn spin.
The Apple Cider Oreo matches the intensity and spice of a Bath and Body Works fall candle. It smells of apple and cinnamon and marshmallows. The Oreo brings the nostalgia of carving pumpkins and telling spooky stories under the fluorescence of a white flashlight.
The immediate impression is that it tastes like a pumpkin, but then the flavor of cinnamon and spice kicks in later. Some would say it even tastes like the fall section in Hobby Lobby on Oct. 1. The crisp flavor would pair really nicely with a glass of cold milk. However, it mainly tastes like a glorified teddy graham. The taste doesn’t match the excitement of the aroma. At the end of the day, it is festive but more bland. It was disappointing, to say the least.

After a few cookies, you will be either overwhelmed by the fall flavor or underwhelmed by its lack thereof. Our recommendation is to leave fall festivities for a pumpkin patch or just visit your local Bath and Body Works. While the Apple Cider Donut Oreo smells amazing, it looks like a graham cracker, and tastes even more disappointing. The sugar intake from just two cookies is exponential and the Oreo doesn’t give much substance. The Apple Cider Oreo is not worth your time or your tastebuds. Leave the flavor go to a thick hot chocolate or classic Halloween cookie.
Salted Caramel Brownie Oreos
The Salted Caramel Oreo is a rich brownie color, complete with flakes of salt, which is really pleasant. The filling is a bi-layer of what looks like brownie mix and salted caramel.
The Oreo almost resembles the smell of a brownie, just less exciting. It lacks the aroma of caramel. It smells like a regular Oreo, which is disappointing considering I could just open an oven of fresh-baked brownies, and top them with oozing with salted caramel. That’s saying a lot, considering I’m an awful baker.
The salted caramel does not enhance the cookie, but the cookie itself is salty and rich. The caramel pairs with the brownie really nicely, and it reminisces of a seasonal Starbucks drink or a dessert called chocolate lasagna.

Although the aftertaste was unpleasant and will cause the taste-tester to crave water, the cookie is really delicious for those whose palettes favor sweet and salty flavors. It is an elevated Oreo, as it brings the nostalgia of baking with your grandma. The chocolate flavor really came through. Although the smell is disappointing, the taste completely makes up for it. And the Oreo is so cute and festive with the flakes of salt, which is a wonderful detail.
