The cross country team wrapped up their 2023 season after a trip to regionals with no one advancing to state. At the district meet, the boys ranked sixth place in district, whereas the girls team took second place.
“Oh, it went pretty well. We all did good work together as a team, so we did really good and ended up placing,” sophomore Magdelena Williams said.
With regionals closing out their season, athletes share what they believed could be done better for their next run.
“One thing I feel like we could always improve on is just having a positive attitude about everything. Just cross country is such a mental sport, so that can always go,” sophomore Kira Albino said.
“It went pretty well. We all did good work together as a team, so we did really good and ended up placing,” Williams said about their most recent race.
However, the athletes on the boys team share a different story.
“Our most recent race wasn’t our greatest one, we didn’t beat Reagan at district, but we’re excited to move forward,” junior Antonio Valdespino said.
“As a team hopefully we can grow and continue to grow throughout the season, and individually be confident and feel good after every race,” junior Manny Moove said.
