They may not look like traditional pancakes, but these microwave pancakes in a cup are actually quite practical. They are light, fluffy, cakey, and filling.

To make them, you just add water up to the marked line in a cup and thoroughly mix. If you do not mix well, you will probably end up with some cemented powder at the bottom. Speaking of the bottom, after cooking the chocolate chips will likely sink, so the pancake will mostly be plain, unfortunately. They take a minute and 10 seconds to cook and generally will not overflow as long as you stick to the guided line. In my experience though, it has a better texture with a little extra water. It’s spongy with a slight vanilla taste, but it does have a hint of something funky that oddly reminds me of bacon. It really is like any other store bought pancake mix, not some exceptional gourmet gem, but good enough to set your day on the right track. With

some butter or maple syrup, I imagine it would be pretty satisfying, especially if you are in a rush. It is also well portioned and you will probably not be able to have a second one, but also will not feel too full or weighed down. Overall for $1.48 at HEB, this is quite the deal. It tastes pretty good, is easy to make, and makes a filling breakfast.
