When sophomore Enzo Vargas gets dressed for school in the morning he has to choose how he wants to express himself.
“I feel like fashion is one of the best ways to express yourself. It gives people your first impression on you, and…Like who you may be as a person,” Vargas said. “For the stuff I wear, it just makes me feel more comfortable with myself. And I just feel a lot more confident when I’m walking around because it really feels like me.”

And for Vargas, getting the looks he wants doesn’t mean spending a lot of money or chasing mall trends.
“Just buying from secondhand sellers or even making your own clothes,” Vargas said. “Honestly, I think it’s really just in your mind. It’s all in how creative you may be.”
The way you dress can come from many different factors such as what you’re interested in, where you grew up or even hobbies and the general style of what you do.
“Well, I’ve been skating since I was little, so I was around that, and I grew up with it,” junior Tony Ferrufino said. “I’ll say it expresses me because it’s like a representation of yourself.”

some people enjoy the freedom of being able to wake up and just throw on something comfortable for the day but may still respect the y2k and alternative styles.
“I’m not really picky when it comes to my fashion. I just really like wearing graphic tees and sweatpants. Just anything that looks nice,” sophomore Taurean Kemp said. “I kind of like the Y2K aesthetic. It’s kind of baggy. I’ve always been messing with baggy ever since I was younger. And alternative is like a nice little… It’s a nice little side step to, like, the poppiness of, like, colors and stuff. Like, if you can find a fit that’s all black and is tough, I mean, Show out.”
For a junior like Nadia Myers school is an opportunity to show off her unique style to many.
“I go for stylish because school is pretty much my fashion,” Myers said. “I feel like depending on what someone wears, you could kind of get an idea of their personality.”

Vargas and many others would all agree that they like their clothes to stand out in the crowd by just wearing what they like.
“I just feel like wearing a bunch of designs. I just wanted each of my clothes to stand out. For example, on my shirt, I have some patches. And on my pants, I have some skulls,” Vargas said.
