JROTC navigates a win

The Spring NEISD Orienteering Meet was held this past Saturday at Camp Bullis.  JROTC had 11 teams (32 Cadets) competing in three Male & Female categories (Advanced, Intermediate, and Beginner) and all did very well.  This meet was the first using the U.S. Orienteering Federation format, rules and procedures. As in all Orienteering Meets, cadets are given a map, compass, and whistle and must navigate difficult terrain to locate as many points as possible within 90 minutes—all winners will run for the entirety of the entire allotted time.  The scores by teams and team members were:

Intermediate (Yellow Course) Female Team Results:

1st Place- C.T. johnson, 1 hour 12 minutes, 220 points collected, Team Members: CDT/PFC Emily Canerio, CDT/PFC Atasia Limon, CDT/1SG Ellen Pennington and CDT/CPL Sarah Baldridge

Beginner (White Course) Male Teams:

1st Place- C.T. Johnson Team #1, Team Members CDT/PFC David Newill and CDT/CPL Joshua Frazier

2nd Place- C.T. Johnson Team #4

13th Place- C.T. Johnson #2

The Varsity (Advance) results and the team postings that will be used in determining the NEISD JROTC Superintendent Trophy at the end of the school year are as follows:

Females: 2nd Place- C.T. Johnson #4.  Time: 1:20  Points: 605

Males: 5th Place – Johnson # 3. Time 1:07 Points: 620
