Choir ‘pops’ onto Johnson’s concert scene

Choir pops onto Johnsons concert scene

With the end of the school year just days away, choir draws closer to their final show of the year: Pop Show.

Pop Show will take place on May 19 and 20 in the Johnson Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at all three lunches and at the door on the night of the event. It is a showcase of many different abilities.

“Pop Show is a lot of new things, a lot of new people showing off their talent,” sophomore Chris Montez said.

Even though Pop Show is a choir production, other students may be featured.

“Anyone in choir can participate. They can bring in other people though, like if they’re doing a solo, they can bring in the orchestra to play with them,” Montez said.

Pop Show includes choreography as well.

“There is a lot of hardcore dancing, everyday,” Montez said.

Pop Show is guaranteed to offer surprises and a good time.

“Choir’s going to be doing their own little thing as a group, so it’s going to be different from any other choir concert you’ve ever been to,” Montez said.

I think whoever came up with the idea of pop show is very smart. This gives the choir kids to sing something they want to sing instead of always having to be directed or memorizing music that isn’t the current music we listen to now. I just wish that it didn’t have to be JUST choir kids, why cant there be a talent show for all students who want to show their talents off the entire student body. At Tejeda Middle School i remember there being a Talent show and also a TwolfIdle which is something like the Pop show here at Johnson. So, having a talent show here would give students another activity to take part in instead of joining a sport or having to be part of a club, because they can express something they like doing and is good at doing it.
