Homecoming is already here and as early as ever – this weekend. And while it’s not a district game this year, it’s still an important date on the calendar.
“The homecoming week is scheduled based on everyone’s schedule – the band, student council, the athletes. We always want it to be a Friday night game versus a Saturday night game, as we all looked at the calendar, the best available date was this Friday,” athletic director Ron Rittiman said.
Having it early could also help the team by giving them time to prepare for later games in district. The homecoming game always brings high expectations as well as high emotions for the athletes. It’s one of the biggest games of the year no matter who it’s against. Although this year is the first year that it’s against a non district opponent, it will still provide a fun and entertaining game.
“Everybody has a role of setting up the pep rally and other activities, but for the football players their main goal is to take care of the game and execute properly,” Rittiman said.
