Varsity Football
The Jags varsity football team beat New Braunfels in the Homecoming game this past week. Senior Xavier McElhannon led the Jags with 153 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries. The Jaguars ended their non-district schedule at 2-2, and are kicking off their district schedule against McArthur Saturday, September 29 at Comalander Stadium.
Varsity Volleyball
The varsity Jags volleyball team lost to rival Reagan, but managed to pull off a victory against Lee to improve their district record to 3-2. The team is now 17-18 overall and getting ready to start the second half of their district schedule after playing Madison on September 28.
Varsity Cross Country
Number one runner Nicolas Gagnon and the rest of the boys varsity team recently ran a two mile run at Fort Sam Houston. The results have not yet been released. Dara Niemi also ran in the number one spot for the first time on the girls varsity team and placed in the top ten. The varsity team’s next meet is scheduled at Georgetown on September 29.
Varsity Tennis
The Tennis team suffered a tough loss to Churchill last week but rebounded by sweeping Madison 10-0 and is now sitting comfortably with a 2-1district record. They currently hold the 3rd seed in district but are still in contention for the 1st seed and will face off against both Clark and Alamo Heights on September 29.
